Meeting Brian Hannan at the Widescreen Weekend was a pleasure. He’s just published two separate books on the making of The Guns of Navarone and Lawrence of Arabia. They’re modest little affairs, privately published and containing no images. But as they say in The Player: “No stars – just talent.” Brian’s books are all killer, no filler. I learned a lot and devoured the Navarone tome in one sitting. So much better than the official “making of” efforts we are force-fed by the studios. Looking forward to his books on The Magnificent Seven, The Dirty Dozen and more. Bring ’em on.
Cracking read, Gromit
