The final day of shooting on Ghost Town in Pontefract on Tuesday was a smooth affair – until a bloke with a rifle came wandering through the field where I was filming with director Jamie Roberts and producer Adam Booth. Luckily it was only an air gun and the chap was out hunting rats. Jamie snapped this shot of me talking with our friendly interloper. “Have you seen any rats?” he asked hopefully. And I had: one big one and a smaller baby scurrying across the earth. As the saying goes, all human life is here…

Ghost Town is scheduled for transmission on Channel 4 sometime around Halloween.
