Sequels a-plenty in 2015 line-up

Maybe it’s just coincidence, but I doubt it. The flurry of trailers, teasers and news releases over the past week augurs well for a packed cinema schedule in 2015. First Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens. Then the announcement of Spectre, with Christophe Waltz on board as, hopefully, a classy addition to the canon of Bond baddies. And finally the trailer for Terminator: Genisys, starring Emilia Clarke and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I’m intrigued by them all, and want each one to be quality entertainment. I loved Skyfall, enjoying Sam Mendes’ direction and the handover of ‘M’ from Judi Dench to Ralph Fiennes. I’m a Star Wars kid so Episode VII and the reuniting of Hamill, Fisher and Ford has me quietly salivating. And on a purely aesthetic level (cough, cough) I think Emilia Clarke is the best thing to happen to the Terminator series in forever.

So, bring ’em on.
