Daughters of Darkness set for reboot

daughters-of-darkness-1971-If you’ve never seen Harry Kumel’s 1971 chiller Daughters of Darkness then you’ve missed one of the seminal vampire movies of the ’70s – or any decade, come to that.

Harry is in pre-production on a follow-up story to be filmed in the north of England. I met and interviewed him yesterday about the movie and its stars Delphine Seyrig, Danielle Ouimet, Andrea Rau and John Karlen. The Q&A will form part of a new anthology of interviews to include Robin (The Wicker Man) Hardy, Robert (The Abominable Dr. Phibes) Fuest, Peter (The House That Dripped Blood) Duffell, Robert (Vampire Circus) Young, Jenny (An American Werewolf in London) Agutter, Ingrid (The Vampire Lovers) Pitt and Barbara (Dracula: Prince of Darkness) Shelley. The final gem in this treasure trove will be an interview with Ray Harryhausen.
