TV: Tonight (1999-2002)

Editor: Mark Witty | 1999-2002 | 30 minutes | GB | Yorkshire Television

I joined Tonight in March 1999 as resident film critic. My role also involved interviewing talent associated with the latest releases. Over two years I interviewed Adam Sandler, Robin Williams, Christopher Lee, Oprah Winfrey and Harrison Ford, who proved to be one of the show’s biggest draws. Tonight regularly attracted an audience of almost a million viewers across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire – bigger than many of the national film-related programmes on TV at the time. Tonight was launched in 1996. I appeared on more than 50 editions between 1999 and 2002.
